(David Branch belongs to my Ross line)
David was named for his uncle David Branch of Appling County, Georgia. He enlisted In The Irwin County Cowboys on August
27, 1861, along with brothers Elias and Jesse, At Camp Stevens near Savannah, Georgia. He was sixteen years old and single
when he enlisted. He enlisted as a private. His brothers William and James and his brother also served in this unit. David
fought at Gaines Mill and Second Manassas. David was wounded three times at the Battle of Sharpsburg, probably in the Miller's
Cornfield. He was wounded in the right arm, left knee and left thigh. He was captured when the outnumbered Georgia Brigade
was forced to pull back. David was wounded and captured on September 17, 1862 and was admitted to The U.S. Army Hospital at
Fredick, Maryland on Oct. 22, 1862. He spent three months in the hospital and on January 17, 1863 he was released and sent
to Fort Monroe. On January 20, 1863 he was released as a prisoner at Fort McHenry. David was released by order of General
Schenck (USA) as part of a prisoner exchange. David was admitted to The Confederate General Hospital at Petersburg, Virginia
on January 26, 1863 and on Feb. 2, 1863 he was released on wounded furlough. David was returned to his home in Irwin County,
to rest. David must have gotten sick or either his wounds did not heal well because he was admitted to the hospital in Macon,
Georgia in August 1863. He was in the hospital at least until April 1864. David survived his injuries and went on to marry
and had children. His arm was permantly disable and he drew a pension for his services.

Jesse Cleghorn, 81, of Fitzgerald, died Thursday, January 19, 2006, at his residence.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, January 21, 2006, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, Fitzgerald, with
Rev. Earlie Holt officiating. Interment will follow in Arp Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9, Friday evening
at the funeral home.
Mr. Cleghorn was born January 17, 1925, in Irwin County, to the late Avery and Essie Parks Cleghorn. He lived in Irwin
and Ben Hill Counties most of his life and was a former resident of Albany. Mr. Cleghorn was a Barber for forty years and
a former employee of H.R. Kaminsky & Sons and the Fitzgerald Fire Department. He was a member of Arp Baptist Church.

Mrs. Dora Lucy Cleghorn Hall, age 78 of McDonough passed away Saturday, August 26, 2006 at her residence.
She was born January 13, 1928 in Turner County, GA to the late Essie Mardell Parks and Avery Cleghorn. She was preceded
in death by her husband, James Clinton (J.C.) Hall in 1982; by a son, James Clinton Hall, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Hall, Mary Harper,
and Nancy Tribble; brother, Jesse Cleghorn. She retired from Woolworth after 35 years; was a member of Sharon Baptist Church;
and was a loving mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. Rev. Gary
Lewis will officiate. Interment will follow at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwinville, GA at 5:00 PM. Friends may

Judy Kay Copeland. An industrial seamstress, homemaker and devoted wife she was a member of the Arp Baptist Church where she
was a devoted Sunday school teacher. Her love for gardening, crocheting, cooking and playing the piano will always be remembered
by her family and friends

Lillie Mae Walls, 77, of Arp Community, Irwin County, Georgia, died Friday, December 3, 2004, at Crisp Regional Nursing
& Rehab Center, Cordele, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Sunday, December 5, 2004, at Arp Baptist Church, Irwin County, with Rev. Tommy Land
Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home in Fitzgerald,
from 7 to 9 Saturday evening.
Mrs.Walls was born July 15, 1927, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late Tan and Ola Mae Driver Cleghorn. She lived most
of her life in Irwin County. Mrs. Walls was a homemaker and a former employee of Fitzgerald Mills, Tice Yarn and H.R. Kaminsky
and Sons. She was a member of Arp Baptist Church.

OCILLA — Flora Brown Spradlin Baldree, 85, of Tifton, died Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, at South Georgia Medical Center
in Valdosta.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel of Albritton-Beaumont Funeral Directors. The Rev. Terrell
Roberts will officiate. Burial will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Deacons of Tift Avenue Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Baldree was born Feb. 14, 1920, in Heard County to Grady James Spradlin and Evie Hester Spradlin, both deceased.

12, 2005 in Ocilla following an extended illness.
The daughter of the late Tandy Jane and Mae Ola Driver Cleghorn, she was born in Irwin Co. and had lived in Turner Co.
since 1961. She was the widow of Lee Roy Copeland. She was also preceeded in death by a son, Terry Copeland and a granddaughter
Judy Kay Copeland. An industrial seamstress, homemaker and devoted wife she was a member of the Arp Baptist Church where she
was a devoted Sunday school teacher. Her love for gardening, crocheting, cooking and playing the piano will always be remembered
by her family and friends.

The father of A. P. Clements was Joseph Clements, who married a Goff. A. P. Clements
was born July 15, 1811 and married Nancy Branch, who was born July 17, 1814. They
had six sons and four daughters. The sons were R. W. Clements who married Una
Whiddon, Jacob Clements who married Ellen Gibbs, David Clements who married Susan
Whiddon, William J. Clements who married Missouri Smith. A. E. Clements who
married Jane Henderson, and James Clements who married Mary J. Paulk first, second
